Njen muž Admir i sin Benjamin, bili su presretni kada je počala da se oporavlja, kosa joj je ponovo počela da raste, a osmjeh da se vraća na lice.

Bearded men and veiled women should live it up and go to the beach, a top Muslim preacher said Sunday, urging Muslims to instill fun and joy in their lives besides being religious.

Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, beach walks and enjoying outdoor activities is not only for the non-religious and urged Muslims to make recreational activities part of their lifestyles.

For Muslims, modesty is the best policy and that makes many faithful shy away from going for a swim or getting a suntan. But Qaradawi refuted the common held belief that beach-going is forbidden, stressing instead that "it is their [Muslims] right to enjoy the fresh air of the beach."

In an interview with the Egyptian oppositional paper al-Shuruq, Qaradawi said leisure outdoor activities were part of the Sunna, habits and actions, of the Prophet who always spent time with his wives outdoors in the desert and by the oasis.

But besides the psychological benefits of outdoor recreational activities, Qaradawi said going to the beach and praying the daily prayers allows Muslims to prove to the world that being religious does not conflict with leading a fun life.

Qaradawi did not specify whether swimsuits were forbidden but in their efforts to align the Islamic principle of modesty with the urge to swim, Muslims have come up with various swimsuit such as the burkini, which covers the whole body.

Suicide bomber kills more than 40 Pakistanis in latest attack at Pakistani mosques


A Taliban suicide bomber killed more than 40 Pakistanis during an attack at a mosque in the district of Dir in the insurgency-infested Northwest Frontier Province. And the List of Major attacks at mosques and religious events in Pakistan since December 2007.


The suicide bomber entered the mosque compound in the remote village of Hayagai Sharqai and attempted to detonate his explosive vest in the middle of a crowd of worshipers attending Friday prayers. The small mosque was leveled in the attack, and Pakistani officials believe the death toll will rise.

"We fear the death toll may rise to 45 because people are still trapped under the debris. Rescue work is under way and there are body parts scattered in the courtyard of the mosque," Atifur Rehman, the senior government officer in Upper Dir told . More than 70 people were wounded in the bombing.

Yesterday suicide attack is the latest in a series of strikes at mosques and religious services inside Pakistan [see list below]. The Taliban and allied terror groups such as the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi have heavily targeted the Shia minority in Pakistan; Sunni mosques have been heavily hit as well, however.

The Taliban have targeted a mosque in Dir one other time during the past year. On Sept. 10, 2008, more than 25 civilians were killed and more than 50 were wounded after a suicide bomber attacked a mosque filled with Ramadan worshipers. The attack targeted tribal leaders and members that were forming a lashkar, or local militia, to oppose a Taliban advance in the region. The tribal opposition to the Taliban was crushed by the attack.

The Taliban also conducted a deadly attack against policemen in the district of Mardan, which borders Buner and Swat to the south. Six policemen and a Frontier Corps trooper were killed after the Taliban set up a complex ambush in a mountainous region of the district. The Taliban opened fire on the security forces patrol from the hilltops. One Taliban fighter was killed and another was captured during the three-hour gunfight.

The attacks take place as the military cites gains against the Taliban in Buner, Swat, and in Dir. The Pakistani military claims that more than 1,300 Taliban fighters and 90 soldiers have been killed during the offensive, which has been ongoing for more than six weeks. But the military has not reported civilian casualties, and many reports indicate that civilians killed during the operation are being lumped in with the Taliban dead.

The military is still pushing through Swat, Dir, and Buner while the Taliban have conducted tactical retreats after putting up moderate resistance. The military has failed to block the Taliban retreat as it assigned too few forces to the operation. Some Taliban units have slipped the military operation and established bases in the neighboring districts of Haripur, Mansehra, Shangla, Swabi, and Battagram. Others have melted away with the more than 2.4 million internally placed persons that have fled the battlefield.

April 5, 2009: A suicide bomber killed 24 worshipers and wounded more than 100 in an attack outside a Shia religious center in the Chakwal district in Punjab province.

March 27, 2009: A Taliban suicide bomber killed more than 70 worshipers and wounded more than 125 in an attack at a mosque in the Khyber tribal agency.

March 5, 2009: An attacker threw a hand grenade into the middle of a mosque in Dera Ismail Khan, wounding 25 worshipers.

March 2, 2009: A suicide bomber killed six people during an attack at a gathering in a mosque in the Pishin district in Baluchistan.

Feb. 20, 2008: A suicide bomber killed 32 Pakistanis and wounded more than 85 in an attack on a funeral procession for a Shia elder who was murdered in Dera Ismail Khan.

Feb. 5, 2009: A suicide attack outside a mosque killed more than 30 Shia worshipers and wounded more than 50.

ISLAMABAD — Taliban militants armed with rockets, grenades and automatic weapons abducted at least 400 students, staff and relatives driving away from a boy's school in a northwest Pakistani tribal region on Monday, police and a witness said.

The brazen abduction came amid rising militant violence in Pakistan's tribal belt _ actions the military says are partly aimed at distracting it from its offensive against the Taliban in the nearby Swat Valley.

Police were negotiating with the Taliban via tribal elders to release of the captives taken in North Waziristan, said Mirza Mohammad Jihadi, an adviser to the prime minister. He said around 500 people were taken and that they were being held in the Bakka Khel area.

Details were still emerging late Monday about what happened, and much was murky.

Police official Meer Sardar said the abduction occurred about 20 miles (30 kilometers) from Razmak Cadet College in North Waziristan. The people were leaving the school area after they were warned to get out in a phone call from a man they believed to be a political official, Sardar said, citing accounts from a group of 17 who managed to get away.

Local media, however, reported that the group was leaving because their vacation had started.

Around 30 buses, cars and other vehicles were carrying the students, staff and others when they were stopped along the road by a large group of alleged militants in their own vehicles, according to a staff member at the school who was among those who escaped. The vehicle he was traveling in happened to be behind a truck on the road, and it was less visible, so the driver slipped away.

He requested anonymity out of fear of Taliban reprisal but said the school's principal was among those abducted.

Peshawar. Flera terrordåd skakade Pakistan på torsdagen i den våldsspiral som sprider sig över landet.

Tre bombdåd drabbade Peshawar och minst tio personer dödades. Talibanerna säger att de vill hämnas arméns offensiv i Swatdalen.

Vid det första dådet dödades sex människor och över 100 personer skadades när bomber fästa på två olika motorcyklar exploderade vid en populär marknad i staden Peshawar i Nordvästra gränsprovinsen i Pakistan.

Vittnen uppgav att beväpnade män öppnade eld i de trånga gränderna kring marknaden när polisen anlände till brottsplatsen.

Strax efteråt anföll en självmordsbombare en militär postering utanför Peshawar, i vad som vid det laget verkade vara en våg av samordnade angrepp. Fyra soldater dödades vid dådet.

Ett fjärde bombdåd inträffade nära ett sjukhus i staden Dera Ismail Khan, omkring 30 mil söder om Peshawar senare på dagen. Enligt poliskällor utbröt även skottlossning och de första uppgifterna från platsen uppgav att en polisman och en civil person dödades vid dådet.

De senaste dagarnas utveckling spär på farhågorna om ökat våld från talibaner och grupper närstående terrornätverket al-Qaida i provinsen nära gränsen till Afghanistan.

Våldet utlöstes några timmar efter att Pakistans talibaner tagit på sig ansvaret för onsdagens jätteattack i Lahore, som dödade 24 personer. Talibanerna hävdade att attentatet var en hämnd för en militäroffensiv i Swatdalen.

"Vi tar på oss ansvaret för självmordsattacken i Lahore. Den var en hämnd för den militära offensiven i Swatdalen", sade Hakimullah Mehsud, som anses vara andreman inom terrorgruppen Tehreek-e Taliban (TTP), i en kommuniké.

– Om regeringen - på inrådan av USA - genomför ytterligare militära operationer mot oss, så kommer fler regeringsbyggnader att bli våra måltavlor, sade Mehsud till AFP.

Samtidigt uppgav militärkällor att pakistanska armén nu kontrollerar nästan tre fjärdedelar av Mingora, som är största staden i Swatdalen där militären genomfört den omfattande offensiven mot talibanerna senaste månaden.

                                                Egyptian President Mubarak's grandson dies

The 12-year-old grandson of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has died at a hospital in Paris, the state news agency Mena has reported.

Muhammad Mubarak died on Monday from complications of a health crisis which lasted two days, Mena said, without giving the exact cause of death.

The child's body has been flown back to Egypt for burial later on Tuesday.

Muhammad was the president's eldest grandchild, son of Alaa Mubarak, a businessman not involved in politics.

Egyptian state TV has been broadcasting religious songs sung by children as a mark of respect to the long-serving president's family.

Mr Mubarak's wife, Suzanne, cut short an official visit to London to be at her grandson's bedside.

The president will attend the funeral tonight at a military base in Cairo's Nasr City area.

The BBC's Christian Fraser in Cairo says the 12-year-old is thought to have had an existing health condition. He was known to be very close to his grandfather.

Eighty-one year-old Hosni Mubarak is thought to be grooming his younger son, Gamal, to succeed him as Egypt's head of state.
